José Eduardo Martinez won blitz tournament of Moscow Open 2020

The blitz tournament closed the programme of the festival Moscow Open 2020 that took place in the RSSU for the past two weeks. 265 chess players including 10 Grandmasters participated in the competition.

The Grandmaster from Peru José Eduardo Martinez won convincingly the tournament. In 11 rounds he lost just half a point. Four chess players with 9 points are runners-up to the Latin American participant.

According to tiebreak indicators the runner-up is Artur Gabrielyan (Stavropol region), the third place went to – Zhamsaran Tsydypov (Republic of Buriatia). Alexander Reprintsev (Ukraine) and Dmitriy Tsoy (Moscow region) were left outside the top three winners.

The first prize among women went to Daria Charochkina, her result is 8 points. The same result was shown by Sergey Galakhov (Moscow) who obtained the first prize among veterans.

We would like to add that the tournament’s prize fund was 100000 Rubles.
