Sergei Lobanov is winner of National Cup stage of Moscow Open 2020

An 18-year old International Master from Saint Petersburg Sergei Lobanov won the National Cup stage among men of Moscow Open 2020. Having won three games in a row in the final straight, he gained 7,5 points and could break away from the competitors by half a point. 

Eight participants fell behind the winner by half a step. The best tie-break indicators allowed the Grandmaster Daniil Lintchevski (Leningrad region) become the second; a Bronze medal went to the Grandmaster Zhamsaran Tsydypov (Republic of Buriatia).

The rest of the table is the following: José Eduardo Martinez Alcantara (Peru), Javokhir Sindarov (Uzbekistan), Aleksei Pridorozhni (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug), Emil Mirzoev (Ukraine), Sergei Savitksiy (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) and Vitaly Kunin (Germany).

We would like to mention that the tournament hosted 214 chess players from 15 countries.
